  COLLOID MILL is suitable for homogenising emulsifying dispersing, mixing, comminuting of liquids to highly viscous products. It is based on rotor – stator principle, It is available in plain as well as water jacketed in both STD & GMP models.   A colloid mill is a machine that is used to reduce the particle size of a solid in suspension in a liquid, or to reduce the droplet size of a liquid suspended in another liquid. This is done by applying high levels of hydraulic shear to the process liquid. It is frequently used to increase the stability of suspensions and emulsions. The colloid mill is used for various applications such as Superfine grinding, homogenizing, emulsifying, dispersing, mixing and extracting of liquids, ointments and highly viscous products in pharmaceutical, cosmetics, suspensions & emulsion industry.   The product is fed to the hopper which leads the product into the gap between rotor and stator. The product is subjected to a high degree of shearing, cutting and rubbing between two metal toothed surfaces of rotor and stator and towards the discharge section. The processed product continuously leaves the mill through drain pipe if required, it can be re-circulated by three way cock and re-circulating pipe assembly.       SALIENT FEATURES:   All contact parts are made out of S.S. 304 (S.S. 316 on demand at extra cost). No castings are used to avoid contamination problems. Coupling provided between motor shaft and rotor shaft for ease in maintainence. Three leak proof neoprene sealing device between the motor and the processing chamber to prevent liquid going in the motor winding. Modified design of semi concave teeth in rotor and stator reduces motor h.p. and gives better performance in size reduction without damaging the products. Extended bearing housing specially designed to facilitate fine metal contact of rotor and stator. This unique design provides smooth and consistence all around performance and long life of rotor and stator. Three way cock system for draining and recirculation of the liquids provided as standard. Extra discharge sprout provided as a standard for viscous products. DOL starter with overload relay for protection against single phasing and low voltage. Contact parts can be easily dismantled for cleaning. Special design facilitates adjustments of the grinding gap by exterior screw by means of handle even during operation. Flame proof motor and Flame Proof rotary switch can be provided on request at extra cost.               OPERATIONS: Product is feed to the operating ares of a rotor, having a speed of 3000 R.P.M by specially designed feed device. The product is processed by high sheer, pressure and friction between the stator and rotor , the angular gap becomes narrower towards the discharges section. Working Of Lead Oxide Ball Mill : Lead Ingots are melted in the Melting Pot. The Molten Lead in the Melting Pot is pumped on to the Cylinder casting Machine. The Lead cylinders are casted in the Cylinder casting machines at a rate higher than that of the oxidation process. These Lead cylinders are conveyed and stored in a Silo. The Silo feeds the required amount of Lead Cylinders into the Mill as and when required. The amount of Lead Cylinders being discharged from the Silo is adjustable from the PLC system. Lead Cylinders tumbling inside the Ball Mill drum create heat due to friction between them. This heat initiates the oxidation process. The oxidation process is also an exothermic reaction. This exothermic heat raises the temperature of the material that in turn accelerates the oxidation process. A draft of air through the Ball Mill drum gives oxygen for the oxidation process and carries the Battery Oxide to the collection system. The Collection System includes a combination of cyclone and dust collector or just dust collector. Battery oxide is collected and conveyed to storage silos. The Silos storing Battery Oxide are purged with Nitrogen to keep the temperature of the Oxide in check.

Fine spice grinding mill is specially designed for fine grinding of various spices. A perfect design of pneumatic conveying system ensures a dust free and cool operation which is very important for spice, thereby retaining vital properties like color, taste, aroma, flavour, oil content etc. This spice grinding machine can handle various spices like chillies, turmeric, coriander, mixed spices (for curry powder), dehydrated onions, garlic, ginger, black pepper etc. It also grinds foodstuff & various ayurvedic herbs & roots. To maintain the spice properties to its optimum level, a two stage-grinding operation is recommended. First stage coarse grinding with a 3 to 5mm screen followed by second stage line grinding through a 0.5/0.8 mm screen. Either the operations can be done in the same machine by changing the screen or two separate machines can be used for coarse and fine grinding simultaneously. Working Principle The machine chamber consists of swinging hammers side liners & top liners. As the material is fed into the machine through the feeding hopper, it gets pulverized between the swinging hammers revolving at a very high speed and the liners. The perforated screen fitted in the lower part of the chamber regulates the fineness of the pulverized material depending upon its hole diameter. Once the material passes through the screen, it is sucked by a blower unit mounted by the side of grinding mill, which passes through the pipe, cyclone collector and finally discharged through the two-way discharge valve. The air along with the very fine powder will go into the dust collector, where the material will be trapped into the filter bags and the air will be let out. The attachment of the dust collector ensures dust free operation. The free circulation of air into the grinding mill keeps the chamber cool, thus retaining important properties of spices like taste, flavour and colour.

Construction :   Am-colloid mill is driven by a special vertical type highspeed motor, which along with a 5S-housing provides working area of the mill. Circular shaped stator assembly having two different tooth stages, the conical rotor that is directly coupled, and shape of the rotor and stator permits to axially adjust the grinding gap to an accuracy of 0.10 mm. The opening or dosing of this gap is calibrated on a scale. One rotation of the adjusting ring corresponds to a grinding gap of 0.5 mm.   Operation :   In Am-colloid mill the product is subjected to high shearing cuffing, and rubbing forces between two toothed surfaces. The product, while passing down the hopper, inibally gets seized in the preliminary braking drum where  it  is  broken   and  thrown into the  first stator tooth  stage. Due to conical arrangement and the centrifugal effect of the rotor rotating at a speed of 2800 RPM, the material is forced into second tooth stage. The tooth design of the grinding set causes powerful vibrations that subject the particle with high degree of forces. In turn particle reaches the lowest grinding stage. The ground material continuously leaves the mill through the outlet pipe, if required, it can be recirculated.
