Francis Turbine Test Rig (5HP output 15HP supply pump) a) Test rig consists of a Francis water turbine designed for laboratory experimental purpose and to conduct test in metric units. The specifications of the turbine are as follows: - Design Speed - 1500 RPM. Capacity - 3.7 KW. (5.0 HP) Design Head - 15-20m and 1800-2000 lpm. The unit consists of a cast iron spiral casing, a bearing pedestal, a rotor assembly of shaft, gunmetal runner and brake drum all mounted on a suitable sturdy base. Aerofoil shaped gunmetal guide vanes are provided in the turbine to regulate the flow into the runner. The guide vane opening adjustment is made through a hand wheel and a suitable link mechanism. A conical draught tube is connected to the turbine outlet by a bend. For observing the flow at the runner exit, a transparent window made of thick perspex tube is provided in between the turbine casing and the draft bend. A rope brake arrangement with a set of dead weights and spring balance is provided for loading the turbine. Pressure gauge and vacuum gauge are fixed at the inlet and outlet to measure the net supply head to the turbine. b) Water to the turbine is provided by a centrifugal pump set of 15 HP capacity. The pump operates on 440Volts, 3 Phase, 50 Hz line. c) Other standard accessories include a star-delta starter, switch, flow control valve, suitable piping. d) Flow measuring unit consists of a venturimeter of size 100mm with pressure taps connected to two pressure gauges mounted on a panel board. e) The complete test rig is mounted on a storage tank of suitable capacity. The tank is provided with FRP lining for total rust protection.

We are offering Kaplan Turbine Test Rig. Features: Accurate results Easy maintenance Robust construction Simple to operate Kaplan Turbine is an axial flow reaction turbine named in honour of Dr. B. Kaplan, a German Engineer. This turbine is suitable for low head. The power produced by a turbine is proportional to QH. As the head (H) decreases the J discharge (Q) must increase to produce the same power. Water enters the turbine through the stationary guide vanes and passes through the runner axially. The runner has a hub and airfoil vanes, which are mounted on it. The water is fed to the turbine by means of Centrifugal Pump. The runner is directly mounted on one end of a central SS shaft and other end is connected to a brake arrangement. A transparent hollow cylinder made of acrylic is fitted in between the draft tube and the casing for observation of flow. Load is applied to the turbine with the help of rope brake arrangement so that the efficiency of the turbine can be calculated. The set-up is supplied with control panel. A draft tube is fitted on the outlet of the turbine. The set-up is complete with guide mechanism. Pressure and Vacuum gauges are fitted at the inlet and outlet of the turbine to measure the total supply head on the turbine.

The test rig comprises of a two-stage air compressor fitted with an air tank with orifice, pressure gauges 9 an energy meter to measure the input & a Temperature indicator measures the temperatures at various points. The compressor is mounted on air receiver along with the motor, and is provided with air relief valve (safety) and a pressure switch.
