IC engines are widely used in automobile, domestic and industrial sector. They are classified according to cycle, number of cylinders, arrangement of cylinders, fuel used, type of ignition, valve arrangement, cooling system. Test rigs are used to find out the performance of an IC engine. It consists of an IC Engine, dynamometer, fuel measuring, air intake measuring and various other arrangements.

The unit of Ice Plant Test Rig consists of a hermetically sealed compressor with air cooled condenser. A capillary is provided next to the condensers followed by medium temperature evaporators. Electrical energy supplied to the compressor can be measured by energy meter. The evaporator is immersed in the SS tank with PUF insulation. This equipment comprises of a FD Fan Centrifugal Blower coupled to a DC Motor. Three interchangeable impellers with forward, backward and radial vanes are provided with the test rig. Centrifugal Pump Test Rig Closed Circuit Type With S.S. Tanks, ISI Mark Pumps & Motors, Powder coated The closed circuit test rig consists of a "kirloskar make" monoblock centrifugal pump. The pump is provided with a vacuum gauge on suction pipe and a pressure gauge on discharge pipe. The gate valve is used to adjust the head on the pump. Set up consists of a centrifugal pump coupled with electrical motor, supply tank, measuring tank & pipe fittings for closed loop water circulation. Two Stage Air Compressor Test Rig consists of a double stage reciprocating type air compressor driven by a motor through a belt. The outlet of the air compressor is connected to reservoir tank and suction is connected to another air tank with a orifice plate and a water manometer.
