The test rig provides the study of a Diesel engine performance. The rig comprises of a four stroke 4 cylinder Diesel engine coupled to a rope brake dynamometer / electrical dynamometer or Eddy Current Dynamometer. In rope brake dynamometer a water-cooled brake drum along with spring ba1ances, comprises rope brake. For Electrical dynamometer rheostat/load bank is used as loading arrangement. With the help of various measurements provided the test ring can determine BHP, IHP mechanical and thermal efficiencies, air fuel ratio, specific, fuel consumption and heat balance sheet at various loads.Specifications : Engine -  Four stroke 4 cylinder petrol engine, Water cooled, variable speed petrol engine of jeepsy, car or equavailent. The ‘Swarg Systems & Instruments’ unit is a self contained recirculating type unit. All the measurements are provided to evaluate the performance of the gear pump. Gear pumps are positive displacement rotary pumps, and are used at many places, especially where high pressures are required, like hydraulic power packs. SPECIFICATIONS1. The Single Car Test Rig is a mobile unit with trolley arrangement & that can easily be transported to a single vehicle for testing the particular vehicle brake system. Single Stage Air Compressor Test Rig consists of a single stage reciprocating type air compressor driven by 1 HP motor through a belt. The outlet of the air compressor is connected to reservoir (Tank) and suction is connected to another air tank with a calibrated orifice plate and a water manometer. Below is fitted on one side of this air tank to regulate the flow. Temperature of inlet and outlet of air and pressure at outlet can be measured by thermometer and pressure gauge. The Refrigeration Test Rig works on vapor compression cycle. The refrigeration (i.e. process of maintaining a closed space temperature below ambient temperature) is accomplished by continuously circulating, evaporating and condensing a fixed supply of refrigerant in a closed system. Evaporation occurs at a low temperature and low pressure while condensation occurs at a high temperature and pressure. Thus it is possible to transfer heat from an area of low temperature (in this case calorimeter) to an area of high temperature (the surroundings). The required instrumentation is provided to measure the various parameters at different points.
